A correspondent in Iraq told RT Arabic, on Monday, that mortar shells fell in the vicinity of Erbil International Airport in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
He pointed out that "three mortar shells fell within the vicinity of Erbil International Airport, while the area witnessed a heavy security spread and cut off some roads in the surrounding area."
A video tape showed that a column of smoke rose in the area of the shelling, while no victims of the accident have yet been announced.
No one has claimed responsibility for the accident.
