Elon Musk has announced that the X platform is planning to release two new subscription tiers soon, confirming earlier reports.
The primary owner of the platform disclosed details about these new levels. The first level of the subscription might be cheaper than the current plan, which costs $8 per month, but it will not include a reduction in ad appearances.
On the other hand, the second level will be more expensive and will offer an ad-free experience.
The current subscription plan offers a 50% reduction in ad displays for subscribers, but Musk did not reveal the prices of these new tiers.
It is worth noting that the X platform is exploring expanding paid subscription options to increase revenue. This move comes as part of global efforts to provide ad-free services.
This could potentially be a response to the ruling of the European Union court, which suggests the necessity of offering users the choice of opting for an ad-free service if they decline to share their data.
Furthermore, other companies like Meta and TikTok have also announced their intentions to test ad-free options.
It is evident that Musk is aiming to boost X's revenue, as reports indicate a continued decline in ad revenue since his acquisition of the platform.
In an attempt to attract advertisers, the platform has announced figures indicating around 245 million daily active users and 500 million daily posts.
