The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency stated that the call addressed the developments in the Gaza Strip. During the conversation, President Sisi highlighted Egypt's efforts towards de-escalation, outlining the steps taken to deliver humanitarian aid, evacuate foreign nationals, and assist injured Palestinians.
The spokesperson clarified that both presidents agreed to intensify international efforts for an immediate ceasefire. They emphasized the urgent need to facilitate access for humanitarian aid and take necessary measures to protect civilians and prevent further bloodshed. These actions are seen as a precursor to a political process aimed at resolving the conflict on the basis of a two-state solution.
