It is expected that the Chinese company "OnePlus" will equip its "OnePlus 13" phone with a new feature: water resistance.
The "OnePlus 13" will be the first phone from "OnePlus" to come with IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance standards. This means that the device will be able to withstand high water temperatures as well as pressurized water, according to the tech news website "GIZMODO."
Previously, "OnePlus" had stated that its previous phone, the "OnePlus 12," released in 2024, featured an "IP65" resistance standard, meaning it was resistant only to dust and light water splashes. However, it could not be submerged in water, as is the case when swimming.
The "OnePlus 13" is already available in China, but it is expected to launch in the United States and Canada in January 2025.
It is not yet clear whether the specifications of the phone that will be released in the U.S. and Canada will match those sold in China.
The "OnePlus 13," which launched in China last October, is one of the first Android smartphones worldwide to feature Qualcomm's "Snapdragon 8 Elite" processor.
