Arne Slot, the head coach of Liverpool, commented on their thrilling victory in today's match against Brentford in the Premier League.
The game was hosted at "Griffin Park" for the 22nd round of the Premier League, where Liverpool won with a 2-0 scoreline.
Liverpool's victory came in the dying moments of the game, with Darwin Núñez scoring both of the team's goals in the 91st and 93rd minutes.
Slot stated, in comments published by the global network "BBC": "You hope for moments like these during the season. We were able to score the winning goal in the final moments, just like we did against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Fulham."
He added: "Today, we managed to do it, we scored in the final moments. We were close to not getting what we deserved."
He continued: "The number of chances we created today was similar to the chances we had on Tuesday against Nottingham Forest—many. We were on the verge of leaving without a win. What made us very happy was that we scored in the last moments; it was an important match."
Regarding Darwin Núñez, he said: "He always leaves a big impact when he plays. He brings energy and power, controlling the ball from 18 yards in the last half-hour of the game. That's the best he can offer."
He elaborated: "The first hour of the match is usually open, but control comes in the last 30 minutes, and to have someone like Núñez is fantastic."
Slot confirmed: "I don't just look at the results, we created many opportunities, but now winning is the reason we don't need to focus on our performance. I was very happy with our performance."
He concluded: "Brentford made the match difficult. They have good players and a good game plan. It was a wonderful match to watch, as always when Liverpool is on the field."
