Thomas Frank, the coach of Brentford, confirmed that Liverpool is the favorite to win the Premier League this season, as they are currently the best team in the world.
Brentford suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Saturday evening, losing 2-0 in injury time.
Frank said in his remarks to BBC Sport after the match: "I thought we played a really good game against the best team in the world right now."
He added, "We did a lot of things right, we defended really well, we missed chances but not significantly."
He continued, "Maybe we lacked maximum accuracy, we had some good chances that never turned into opportunities due to the final pass or the last touch. Their defenders were exceptionally good."
Regarding Darwin Nunez's first goal, he commented, "It was a rebound, it could have fallen anywhere else, but he blocked the cross, and it fell perfectly for Trent Alexander-Arnold to pass it to Nunez. It was hard to accept, but I’m happy with the performance."
He noted, "We always try to win the match from the first minute, regardless of the opponent. We knew they would have the ball a bit longer, but we believed we could win the match."
He added, "I think we faced Manchester City, Arsenal, and now Liverpool in a short period. For me, Liverpool is at a higher level than Arsenal and City. They are complete, their work ethic, and how they recover back are good signs."
He concluded, "They are really good all over the field, such a threat in attack, they’re really good, the best team in the Premier League and the world. They are the favorites to win the title."
