Information Technology Institute (ITI) Celebrates the Launch of Vector's First Lab in Egypt and the Middle East


Dr. Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt, emphasized the ministry's commitment to supporting and developing specialized software and focusing on investment in this vital sector.


This is done through training and developing thousands of engineers annually, as well as launching training programs in collaboration with global and local companies to build highly qualified teams to meet the growing demand for specialists in embedded systems, automotive software, and the Internet of Things.



Additionally, the ministry offers internationally recognized certifications and establishes specialized research labs across the country. Dr. Talaat noted that more than 12,000 professionals work in Egypt in the field of exporting research and development services.


This statement was part of a recorded message from Dr. Amr Talaat during the "Vector Day in Egypt" celebration, organized by the Information Technology Institute (ITI) at its headquarters in the Smart Village.


During the event, Vector's first lab in Egypt and the Middle East, specializing in embedded software, was launched, and the first batch of 40 young Egyptian engineers certified by Vector was celebrated.


 These engineers were employed full-time in fields such as electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and embedded security, highlighting the success of the ITI’s specialized training programs.


 Furthermore, 42 more engineers are set to graduate and be certified by Vector, with 100 additional specialists scheduled for future graduation, marking a significant addition to the institute's initiatives to support innovation and develop local talent.


Dr. Amr Talaat added that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology aims to train 500,000 trainees during the current fiscal year through the ministry's initiatives designed to meet local and global job market needs in various technological fields.


Dr. Talaat also mentioned that more than 180 companies from around the world have chosen Egypt as a destination for outsourcing, engineering research and development, and exporting digital services, thanks to the highly qualified talent pool produced through specialized training programs.


He commended the collaboration between Vector Informatik, the ITI, and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), which resulted in the graduation of the first batch of 40 engineers with a 100% employment rate.


He further pointed out that the new Vector lab, available for specialists, would serve as a center for innovative applied research, strengthening Egypt’s position as a hub for exporting specialized IT services in the Middle East and Africa.


It also enhances Egypt’s status as a destination for European outsourcing companies.


He emphasized Egypt’s openness to partnering with global companies in the automotive industry, including OEM manufacturers, technology providers, and innovation leaders, to collaborate on providing high-value engineering services, driving digital innovation, and supporting business growth.


Dr. Heba Saleh, the head of the Information Technology Institute, stated that the event highlights the institute's efforts in preparing a new generation of Egyptian engineers skilled in areas such as Integrated Circuit Design (IC Design), embedded systems, embedded security, and advanced technologies like Android Automotive and digital twins.


She added that the ITI works to empower youth through advanced training programs that meet both local and global market needs, emphasizing that this event reflects the success of these specialized programs in creating job opportunities for youth and the institute’s commitment to developing young talent to keep up with global technological advancements, contributing to Egypt’s vision of becoming a regional center for innovation and technology.


The launch of the specialized automotive software lab at the ITI, equipped with the latest tools and technologies from Vector, represents a qualitative addition to developing youth skills and supporting Egypt’s leadership in exporting software.


The training program was implemented in collaboration between the ITI and Vector, and it is a significant step in developing the automotive software, electronics design, and embedded systems sectors. It reaffirms the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's commitment to supporting innovation and developing local talent through international partnerships.


The event also featured notable participation from experts at Vector and specialists from SEITech Solutions, who conducted workshops and discussions on the latest trends in the automotive industry, including Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) and AUTOSAR standards.


The event provided an opportunity for young professionals to network with industry leaders and gain valuable insights into the future of technology in the field.


Engineer Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, emphasized the importance of international partnerships in transferring knowledge and expertise to young professionals, boosting the competitiveness of Egypt's IT sector.


He highlighted the need for digital service export centers and outsourcing companies specializing in automotive systems development in Egypt to adopt global standards and frameworks to enhance innovation and ensure the global compatibility of software solutions.


He cited the collaboration with Vector, a leading German company, as an example of such international efforts to qualify specialists in embedded systems.


El-Zaher added that Egypt has the potential and all the necessary resources to become a global center for exporting knowledge and value-added services, thanks to its abundant skilled workforce, government support for outsourcing industries, and investment in human resources through targeted initiatives and specialized training programs.


Nils Vogel, Operations and Projects Director at Vector, expressed his great satisfaction with the fruitful collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliated entities, such as the ITI and ITIDA, to support young Egyptian talents in the advanced electronics industry.
