Leganés Shocks Atlético After 15 Consecutive Wins... Griezmann Misses a Penalty

Atlético Madrid suffered a surprising 0-1 defeat to hosts Leganés on Saturday in the 20th round of La Liga.

This loss froze Atlético Madrid's tally at 44 points at the top of the table, putting their lead at risk. Second-placed Real Madrid, with 43 points, is set to face Las Palmas on Sunday in the same round.

Atlético Madrid is also six points ahead of Barcelona in third place, and the Catalan team will have the chance to narrow the gap if they win against Getafe on Saturday.

This defeat marked Atlético Madrid's second loss of the season and ended an impressive eight-match winning streak.

On the other hand, Leganés raised their total to 22 points, placing them in 15th position.

Matija Nastasić scored the only goal of the match for Leganés in the 49th minute.

Antoine Griezmann missed a penalty for Atlético Madrid in the 89th minute, squandering the chance to at least salvage a point from the game.
