Saudi Arabia: Collaborating with the International Community to Harness AI for the Benefit of Humanity


Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, emphasized that the Kingdom is working in partnership with the international community to harness artificial intelligence (AI) as a pivotal tool to promote sustainable development and achieve global goals.  



In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Swaha said, “Saudi Arabia’s participation in the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, held from January 20 to 24, comes at a time when the world is transitioning from the digital era to the smart era. This underscores the Kingdom’s vital role in leading global efforts to enhance innovation and harness AI for the benefit of humanity.”  


He added that the forum provides a global platform to highlight the Kingdom’s developmental, economic, and technological achievements within the framework of Vision 2030. He also pointed to Saudi Arabia’s role in advancing the global agenda to promote the digital economy, innovation, and AI for the benefit of humanity and the protection of the planet.  


Al-Swaha noted that these efforts aim to improve quality of life, support the digital economy, and create new job opportunities across various sectors, contributing to building a sustainable and prosperous future for all.  


Saudi Arabia is participating in the forum under the theme “Working Towards a Prosperous Future for the World,” focusing on key messages aimed at enhancing international dialogue, accelerating sustainable developmental transformations, driving transformative innovation, and empowering human capabilities.
