Diego Simeone, the head coach of Atlético Madrid, wants his team to live in the moment as they aim to extend their winning streak while facing Leganés.
The British news agency (PA Media) reported that Atlético has secured 15 consecutive victories across all competitions, booking a place in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey after defeating Elche 4-0 last Wednesday.
Despite the team’s excellent form, Simeone wants his players to remain fully focused as Atlético seeks its ninth consecutive win in La Liga when they face Leganés, who are currently in 16th place.
Simeone said: "What we need to do is live in the moment – no one should think beyond the next match. We need to enjoy it. We know our strengths and weaknesses, and we must work based on what we need."
He added, "But we are facing an opponent that reads games very well. Leganés is very strong at home, and I expect a tough and challenging match."
