Milan Reaches Agreement with Chelsea for Joao Felix's Loan Move

Italian club AC Milan has reached a verbal agreement to sign Portuguese player Joao Felix, currently of Chelsea, on loan during the current winter transfer window.

According to The Athletic newspaper, Milan has reached a final agreement with Chelsea to bring Joao Felix on loan until the end of the current season.

The British outlet added that Milan will cover the full salary of the 25-year-old player as part of the direct loan deal, which will also include a loan fee of €5.5 million.

Aston Villa had also shown interest in the 25-year-old player, with manager Unai Emery keen on signing him in the summer.

Joao Felix will be Milan’s third signing of the transfer window, following the loan acquisition of right-back Kyle Walker from Manchester City and Santiago Giménez from Feyenoord in the Netherlands.

Joao Felix joined Chelsea from Atlético Madrid in a deal worth around £44.5 million in August.

The Portuguese international signed a six-year contract with Chelsea with the option of an additional 12 months.

Joao Felix has played 20 matches for Chelsea this season across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. However, he has struggled to get minutes in the Premier League, featuring in only 12 matches and was not included in the matchday squad for last weekend's loss to Manchester City.
