Brazilian star Neymar da Silva trained for the first time with Santos FC, as seen in a video posted on the social media platform "X" (formerly Twitter).
Last Friday, the player signed a six-month contract with Santos, with the possibility of an extension. However, he mentioned that it is still "too early" to talk about extending his commitment to the Brazilian club where he began his career before returning at the age of 33.
Between 2009 and 2013, Neymar played 225 matches, scored 135 goals, and won major titles in the black and white jersey, including the Copa Libertadores.
He then moved to Europe with Barcelona, where he continued to develop alongside Lionel Messi and added more trophies to his record: the UEFA Champions League, two La Liga titles, and three Copa del Rey titles.
In 2017, in a surprising move, he made a radical shift in his career and signed with Paris Saint-Germain, which paid 222 million euros for his transfer.
In 2020, he reached the UEFA Champions League final again, but lost to Bayern Munich.
Since then, a series of serious injuries and off-field scandals have caused Neymar's performance to decline significantly.
In 2023, after his options ran out with the arrival of Spanish coach Luis Enrique at Paris Saint-Germain, he packed his bags and joined the Saudi Pro League with Al Hilal.
At Al Hilal, he only played seven matches due to frequent injuries, and last month, he announced his departure from the club.
Now, at Santos, he hopes to regain his lost form with his eyes set on the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
